Bunton After Christmas Visits

The day after Christmas, the West Bunton clan jumped in the car and made the 14 hour trek to North Carolina to do some serious visiting. We were able to spend a couple days at the Bunton land and the rest of the time was spent visiting all my siblings and siblings-in-law.

I have to say it was the best all-around visit we have ever made due in large part I believe to the age of our children. We are finally at that point where visiting family/friends actually makes our life easier since the kids spend the entire visit in parts unknown with their cousins and we can just sit back, enjoy, and smirk at all our siblings and sibling-in-law who are still harried and stressed because they didn't have the foresight to start their families seven years ago or to stop at just three :-).

(i hope you all realize the obvious joke in that last statement).
I love this picture of Jim and Amanda. They both seem happy, well-rested, companionable. I would have cropped it to just them, but I had a hard time cutting out Eleanor.

When holding the egg, Eleanor was instructed to gently put it in the basket. I think further instructions were necessary because she very slowly and carefully "dropped" the egg into the basket where it promptly shattered.

Seriously... Eleanor could not be cuter.

I suppose it is important to balance out a fresh home-grown egg with some refined chocolate...

Your narrative is hilarious. I am very jealous of your seven year foresight and am looking forward to the day when my children go play "in parts unknown" while visiting family. :)

Additionally, M has the same instructional challenges regarding eggs. She takes "crack the egg gently on the bowl" to mean crack the egg and then smash/crush with all strength over the bowl.
