Once again, can I just say how thankful I am that it is eggs and soy and not wheat and dairy.

Our Early October
My parents came to visit for the day the first weekend in October and my mom taught James how to play chess. Technically, I believe it is my brother Jamey's chess board, but we will take good care of it. I always assumed 5 was way to young to play chess, but at a friend's wedding last May, we were confronted with a hotel full of teeny tiny chess competitors. Turns out, 5 is perfectly old enough to learn chess.
My cousin Becca has the cutest blog about Things That Are Too Small. I thought it was just adorable and kind of lamented to myself that my kids never tried things like that. About a week later, James comes into the room wearing his new "stormtrooper" outfit. It is actually Eleanor's dress. The picture taking made him feel a little sheepish. It clued him in that just perhaps this wasn't a new shirt for him. I thought it made a cute shirt however, I will have to try it out on Gillian.
Just my sweet Eleanor. Several things made me suspect that I might not be making enough milk and so we started supplementing her and she gained 2 lbs and is now as chunky as my other kids were. All is right with the universe except that having taken a bottle, she won't go back to the nursing.
James and my first attempt at bread. We all love it. Perhaps this allergic to soy thing is actually the Best Thing Ever. It is a "light" wheat bread and only takes 30 minutes to make, including clean up and it makes enough for two weeks. So all in all, not a bad addition to our lives.
Once again, can I just say how thankful I am that it is eggs and soy and not wheat and dairy.

Sweet bread!! I would love the recipe~ I am so sorry about the allergies BTW- what a bummer. Why is it that nursing has so many complications? Why can't it just be easy?
It was so fun to see your parents at Bella's blessing last weekend. I only wish we would have had time to see them a little bit more. Grandparents are the best.
Good job making bread! I hope that it makes your kids feel a little bit better.
I was glad to see that James tried on Eleanor's dress. It almost passes as a shirt for him! Yesterday Rachel found a sweater of mine that buttons down the front and she put her legs in the arms of the sweater and had the buttons all done up to her neck. It looked like long john's. Very funny. I love it when kids get creative.
Hey! I am so glad you're reading Mistborn... I am so dying to talk to someone about it. Hopefully I haven't forgotten everything by the time you get to the third one (which by the way, if you want to borrow mine, you definitely can - it's the only one I own). :)
And, yeah do that 8 tag, it's more fun than the one I actually tagged you on. :)
That bread looks absolutely delicious by the way. recipe?
Cute pics! And BEAUTIFUL Bread!Love your posts . . . :)
Those are two Martha Stewart-looking loaves of bread! Beautiful--and they make me want some NOW!
