Come in said the King with a yum, yum, yum!

While reading King Bidgood's In the Bathtub to the kids I said, "Hey, wouldn't that be fun to have dinner in the bathtub tonight?!

Long awkward pause, both kids staring at me with James' look saying "What are you...a child?"

Slightly ashamed, I stammered, "We could make something that doesn't spill?"

Finally James said, "Mom, we can't eat in the bathtub."

"What? No. We could have a lot of fun, it would just be one time." I pleaded.

"No mom, there's no eating in the bathroom."

"Sigh...Okay, you're right. Let's just finish the story."

Stupid rules.

I love that book! Your kids are so funny. Maybe they'd prefer dancing in the tub? Doesn't involve food at least.

That is so funny! Now I want to go check that book out and have dinner in the tub.

I'm all for it. Sure would make clean up a lot easier. :-)

Your kids are such sticklers for the rules. Hope they remember that in their teen years ;)

that totally cracks me up.

Good job thinking outside the box, enjoying your kids while they are young, being irresponsible......although you are raising them maybe a little bit too well!

When I have kids I REALLY want them to be like that. Tell me your secrets on getting them to follow the rules.

With that said, I think you and I would have a ton of fun together, because I'd be all for getting in the tub with you for dinner.

Man I missed out on that rule- I feed my kids in the tub 25% of the time. They are distracted, so they eat more, and no mess on the clothes, just down the drain!

Elizabeth's mom says: My baby/child/teenage Elizabeth would never let me 'break' any of the rules either.

Keep teaching that child spontaneity! His own children will thank you someday! (Extra smart and obedient children may need extra help.) It will increase the joy factor if they can ever get over the guilt....
