Keeping Busy

I've had to come up with things to do in the evening while Tim is gone so that I feel glad that I have free time rather than sad that I am all alone. Below are some pictures of some of the things I've done this month.

The kids and I made a hatching spider egg. We made the egg out of paper mache and painted it white and then glued lots of little plastic spiders on it with a few trailing down on their silk. We hung it up in the toy room. It was pretty creepy.
My sister-in-law Jean taught me how to make a simple skirt without a pattern and only three sewing lines. I decided to make one for practice before I started experimenting with the pattern and I let Gillian pick out whatever material she wanted for her play skirt.

I like how full they are. I made a little decorative tie for it which I guess makes it more than three stitch lines.

Also, check out my new glasses.

I love this picture of Eleanor. She is snuggling up in yet another strawberry shortcake blanket that I made. I am a sucker for material. I find it, have to have it, and then need to figure out what to do with it. Heaven knows we don't need any more blankets. The kids each have three that they just "have to have."

But it is silky AND super soft AND pink. It was a blanket that just had to be made.

The cute fabric looks even cuter due to the fact that it is wrapped around a very cute baby.

Ohhh very cute baby (and blankie). I really love your new glasses too. I may be getting some new glasses myself since it is day 4 of not being able to locate mine.
